Kim Delaney is an American actress who is best known as the character detective Diane Russell in ABCs series NYPD Blue for which she garnered the Emmy Award. In addition, she was a part of series like All My Children Philly CSI: Miami, Army Wives and CSI: Miami. Delaney was the sole child of the United Auto Workers executive and his wife, a housewife. Her childhood was spent in a family which included four brothers. As a child, Delaney fantasized of being a reporter for the court. Her modeling career began in highschool and eventually gained commercial opportunities when she relocated to New York. Her first film role was as a teen innocent on All My Children, a 1981 soap opera. Delaney's career has been filled with a variety of television shows and dramas. Like her career, her personal life hasn't been happy or successful. This actress who's gifted and beautiful, has battled drinking in the past. She has also had marriages that ended in failure twice. In 2005, she lost the custody of her son.
